National Champion Safety Zac Etheridge of Auburn University takes time to talk to Who's Next Football.

WNF: What NFL teams showed interest in you before the NFL Draft?
ZE: Texans, Jags, Colts, Cardinals, Falcons, and Browns

WNF: What was it like not hearing your name called on NFL Draft day?
ZE: Devastating. I had expected to at least be drafted in one of the later rounds, based off of the interest I was receiving. No disrespect to anyone, but it hurt seeing other guys come off the board that I felt I was better than. But I turned it around and looked at it as motivation to become better than them and win a spot on a roster.

WNF: Auburn won the National Championship and you got to meet President Obama. What was that like?
ZE:Life changing. Both were once in a life time experiences. Meeting the president was something that I KNOW many people don't ever get the opportunity to even come close to getting to do. Its pretty cool to get to tour the White House and DC, something a lot of the guys on the team would probably never get to experience. It was also great to see things that we studied in class and meet the man that makes all the decisions for the country. Winning the National Championship is indescribable. Nothing like being on top and knowing that nobody is better than you. We really focused on that goal as a team from the beginning of 2-a-days and we pulled together and made it happen.

WNF: What one NFL player do resemble most on the field?
ZE:  I really have my own game, and don't really like to compare myself to people because everyone has their own way of playing style. However, If I had to pick somebody I would say Adrian Wilson.

WNF: If I was an NFL coach why would I want Zac Etheridge on my football team?
ZE:  I have always been one that never gets outworked and seeks to be a leader on and off the field. I have a great understanding of the game and I am always wanting to learn more to become a better player.I am constantly trying to find ways, and execute them to help out whichever team I am on.
Zac Etheridge works out for scouts at the Senior Bowl
WNF:  What has been the best part about being at Auburn? What do you want to tell the fans who have supported you?
ZE: Of course ending my career with a National Championship was the best part, but all the people I met that will be life long friends and family members. I Just want to tell the fans thanks. Thanks for all the support and the continued support on my next journey. They are incredible people, not only in the football aspect but as people in general.
WNF: What's one thing people might not know about you?ZE: As tough as I am and try to be or act I'm really a Mammas boy lol I Love my Mother to death.
WNF: You were teammates with Cam Newton. Do you think he is capable of becoming a big time NFL QB?ZE: Most definitely. Everyone looks at the way Cam ran the ball because he was very successful doing so but he threw the ball just as well. That's why he went #1. Cam's work ethic is unmatched. He did his thing in one year at Auburn. He is smart, and capable of being one of the best overall players in the league. He's definitely a special athlete and an even better leader.
