Overwhelmed

My husband got an amazing opportunity to work for a university last summer that was located about 50 minutes from our home. For a while we were making commuting work just fine. Then the opportunity came for him to take on athletic responsibilities, which is his passion! After that he needed to be present at athletic events and games, which most often times are in the evening. The longer this went on and the more Brian spent late nights on the road or in a hotel room it became blatantly obvious to us that something had to change. It was hard for me also because I wanted to know his co-workers and the people in the community he was getting to know.  It almost felt like we were living worlds apart even though we were an hour away from each other.

It was difficult to even consider leaving our beloved community. Our oldest had started school, we were involved with our church, our neighbors were amazing, and many of our family members lived just minutes away from us. We were so torn...and I cried a lot.

The day it sunk in we were really moving
We talked and talked and prayed about what our future should look like. Ultimately God made it clear to us that we should move to be closer to Brian's job and get involved with the community as a family. We packed up everything over Christmas break (that was a challenge!) and closed on our "new" home right before the new year. With lots of help from family we are completely moved in and starting to settle into our lovely little community.

Now to the overwhelmed part... I am completely amazed how clear God is making it that He is happy with our decision to move. It doesn't take away the sadness from being farther away from family, friends and neighbors, but this new community has welcomed us with open arms and God is answering many prayers. For instance, we had been praying that I could find a little part time job that would also allow me to be home with the boys and have the flexibility to drop off and pick up my oldest from school. I dropped B off for his first day of school (a Church program) on Monday and was asked to apply to work there! The position would also allow my youngest to attend the mother's day out program so all 3 of us would be in the same building! (I interview tomorrow!)

The first time I cooked in our new house...waffles!

Brian's man cave. He painted the mascots himself!

Moving is exhausting!

I am so thankful this move happened before we bring E home. She's going to have to deal with enough change. God really does have the perfect timing. Speaking of E...10 more days until our 30 day wait period is up! I'll be a momma of 3! Still no word on an official travel date, but hopefully in the spring we'll meet our daughter! We appreciate your prayers that the adoption process would continue to go smoothly.
