We officially received E's referral October 18th!
We've been told by people who have personally visited the orphanage that E is happy, smart and laid back. She loves wearing sunglasses. She even attends a kindergarten class at the orphanage. I love knowing all these little details about her while she is so far away. It gives my momma heart peace.
Just last week we found out E's birth certificate has been obtained. Now we are waiting to receive consent from the commune before we can proceed. (A commune is the area of Congo from which she came).
***One minute after I published this post our caseworker emailed us to report our case has now gone to court for the adoption decree! Praise God!***
Once we receive the commune consent we can work on getting the adoption decree and moving on to the 30 day appeal period. After the 30 days we will get a certificate of non-appeal (CONA). This is a huge step in the process and I believe we aren't far from it!
We still have several months before we can welcome sweet girl home (perhaps late spring early summer - but of course praying for sooner!). We have learned to somewhat guard our hearts in this process knowing that nothing is certain and final until E is home in our arms. It feels good to make progress and to finally share that progress with all of you. I am truly at peace with whatever God has planned for E and for our family. I just pray those plans include us all being together!
