I'm happy to say the total amount raised today from the garage sale is $1253! We feel so overwhelmed and blessed by everyone who was involved in making the sale a success. Our neighbors, friends and family donated tables, their time and lots and lots of items. All week we would get a call, text or knock at the door because someone was making another donation. We definitely couldn't have done it without our support system. We are so appreciative!
Now that our house is a complete disaster (it is seriously the craziest I've seen our house, ever!) we have our homestudy tomorrow evening. We are so fortunate to have a wonderful home study worker who was able to work with our schedule and get us squeezed in so quickly.
Adoption is never certain until your child is home and in your arms, but we are feeling so confident with the St. Vincent process. Our coordinator is a wonderful woman who truly and deeply cares for the children of St. Vincent. Every time we communicate with her she reminds us God is in control and that He is working on our behalf. I can't wait to meet her and give her a big hug!
There is a mandatory wait period in St. Vincent from the time relinquishment papers are complete until the time we can travel to get our baby girl. If all goes well, we hope to travel sometime in November. We are so excited about how God has worked out the details of our St. Vincent adoption. It's amazing to think about a month ago Brian nor I had even heard of St. Vincent. Now, we are looking at photos of a sweet, happy and healthy baby girl we hope to call our daughter very soon!
