My husband and I have been keeping a big secret for the past couple of weeks. We are finally ready to share with you all that we have begun pursuing a 2nd adoption from the island of St. Vincent in the Caribbean!

As many of you know, our Congo adoption process has been extremely long and painful. We are still certain God has a Congolese child planned for our family. After dealing with the recent death of the Congolese baby girl we were matched with for 6 months, we did a lot of praying and wondering what God's plan was for us in this adoption journey. We have never wanted to leave Congo, but after so much hurt and uncertainty we continued to wonder what big plans God had in mind for us..and when those plans would finally be revealed.

It's truly amazing how God led us down this new adoption path. It was a phone call from my sweet adoptive momma friend Sarah on Thursday, May 24th that started it all. She left me a voicemail explaining that she had great friends, Tiffany and Richard, who were in process of adopting a baby girl from a small island in the Caribbean, St. Vincent. Tiffany had reached out to some friends, Sarah included, that a family was needed who was paperwork ready and ready to travel to adopt a little one from St. Vincent. Sarah immediately thought of us (thank God!), called and connected us with Tiffany who explained all the details. I remember Sarah saying, "I know this is completely random..."  It did seem completely random and crazy, but every single day I thank God for how he has been working in this adoption.

There are so many details, too crazy to be written off as simple coincidences, that make it very evident God has orchestrated all of the events of the past couple of weeks. We just discovered our church has a relationship with a church in St. Vincent and several church members have traveled to St. Vincent on mission trips. We had no idea! Brian and I have even talked about how if our Congo adoption would have been completed at this point, we would have never been made aware of this new opportunity. We think God just had two little ones (one from Congo and one from St. Vincent) planned for our family. He knew exactly how to orchestrate every detail to get us to that point. I would have been too fearful to consider another adoption earlier in the process. God is so good and has a perfect plan for all of us!

We are still early on in the St. Vincent adoption process so there's not a lot I can share, but I promise to update as we recieve new information. For now we will be fundraising like crazy to get our little one home. I've begun working on new inventory for my Etsy shop, we will be having a garage sale in 2 weeks, and I've been working a lot as a personal trainer. Money will definitely not keep us from bringing home our child. All we have to do is trust that God will make a way!
